Yet, trying to find the cause, our contractor looked around the chimney only to discover that the house was not build to code. This falls into MAJOR construction issues and would not fall into the "as is" statement as given by Design Homes. Major construction defects must fall within a 10 year time frame - as this does clearly. We have already made calls to PFS , HUD and the state inspector - my family is living in a massive mold infestation and Design Homes has no concern for the already occurring health issues. We have not even looked into the basement bedroom yet for possible issues there from water run off. My family has been through so much and now we have to fight for what is right.

Due to the poor quality of the blue prints we had a hard time getting the foundation in.
They did not point out these "customer responsibilities" until after the deposit was paid. However, we were stuck because they had printed the list on the back of the folder containing our original paperwork. When we had trouble finding a contractor, we canceled the project before the final plans were completed and asked for our deposit back. I do not believe $4000 worth of work was done on our project, but we didn't want to get into a law suit.

Our house was finished by them the first week of July and they just brought it a couple weeks ago. He said they didn’t have time to wait for us....which is funny because how long did we wait for them? I have emailed our designer multiple times regarding scheduling issues and no one responds.
